London Bonuses

Hi all,

I’ve been in this space for a bit and it seems there is a bit of a stigma around sharing your bonus % in the real estate space.

I’m hoping that this anonymous forum will help put an end to that.

Whoever you are if you work in Real Estate in London can you share your bonus %, and carry if any, and some high level details around your job.

For me: Investment Analyst, Development, Bonus: 20%, £0 carry

  1. Development Roles:

    • Bonuses in development roles can vary significantly. For example, one user mentioned a 20% bonus with no carry, which aligns with your experience.
    • Equity or carry is often not included at the junior levels but may be introduced as you progress and start running projects independently.
  2. Real Estate Private Equity (REPE):

    • First-year associates in REPE can expect around £60k base with a 70-100% bonus. This increases to £80k base with the same bonus percentage in the second year.

  5. Venture Capital in Real Estate:

    • Associates in Tier 1 VCs in London may receive bonuses of around 100% of their base salary, with carry potentially worth high six figures for target fund returns.
