[London] Legal & General - Real Estate Team

Hi boys,

Anyone familiar with these guys and their real estate team? I suppose that, since they are a big insurance/asset manager, it's a quite chill place, far from the (and the bonus I guess...) of some REPE

Any insight, also, on L&G Capital (not LGIM)?

Thanks in advance

Hey there!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Legal & General is indeed a large insurance and asset management company. However, I don't have specific information about their real estate team or L&G Capital.

Remember, every company has its own culture and pace, so it's always a good idea to reach out to people who work there or have worked there in the past for the most accurate insights.

As for the bonus and work environment, it can vary greatly not just from company to company, but also from team to team within the same company. So, it's hard to generalize without specific information.

I hope this helps a bit! If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Very very weak team. They’re trying to grow but majority focus is on UK affordable homes, some BTR etc.

Wouldn’t recommend it if you want to learn a lot. If you are very senior, you could go there and establish it n make it better.

To be honest, LGC are new so may have to give them time

I have a mate who works there. They don’t have much deal flow, and even if they do , they have to reject a lot due to restricted capital (tenure is usually biggest reason).

They do only UK n USA. Not much room
To grow and learn.

Senior Associate at LGC is ~£100k base and ~50% bonus.

Team structure is not great. LGIM/equity partners do the real estate investing whereas LGC are more akin to an LP but with less ability.

During a few calls and interviews the LGC team I interacted with have quite limited real estate knowledge and have very little input into actual strategy/investment.
