Looking for some post COVID ideas

Hey Monkeys!

I need some (post-COVID) advice. I currently work for a family office that I set up for the owners but, in doing so, rendered myself obsolete. I'm not getting fired or anything, but I just have run out of work to do there and, as a result, am starting to explore my options for after COVID.

To give you some background, I started working in OC for a family office and brokerage firm before moving to larger REPE in Los Angeles. After that, I went to work a family in Michigan were I set up their family office and managed their investments in real estate as well as 2 operating businesses.

Looking to the future, I wonder what the next step is? I think I've gained a lot of valuable experience, but I am unsure where I should go next. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Hard to give suggestions without knowing what you enjoy, what you're good at, or callously, what kind of net worth you have, but you certainly seem to have plenty of experience. (And certainly more than most on this board.)

What do you think may be interesting?

I've gotten lucky with the experience that I've had. I think I'd either get back into REPE or try something wildly different like VC. I've only been out of school for 5 years so although it's been a lot of experience, I'm very young.

Pretty impressive. So you were the main person tracking down real estate investment opportunities for these HNW families just a few years out of college? How'd you swing that? And how did you have the know how at that point to be trusted with that much responsibility?

Also, how much equity were you working with (ballpark)?
