Manulife Investment Management Reputation - Los Angeles

I’m in the process for an associate-level role in acquisitions at Manulife in their Los Angeles office. Does anyone have any insight into culture/rep/dealflow there? Or able to provide any other color?

There is hardly any discussion on this forum (or online) about them, so I am interested to see. Looks like they have made some solid hires on the transactions team and they seem pretty active as of late ($1.2B industrial LP contribution in December), which is definitely good from a staying busy/actually transacting standpoint.

There’s a new review on here of their Boston office. I don’t have viewing rights but it looks negative. No idea if relevant or not.

An old acquaintance of mine works for them. I ran into him and he said that they have tried to become more of a REPE shop and less of a lifeco, FWIW.
