Market comp for an Associate offer
WSO community, curious as to your thoughts on what a market / fair offer would be for the below role. Would be helpful in guiding my negotiations. Thanks!
- Associate / Sr Associate (4-6 years of exp) supporting acquisitions and AM
- Vertically-integrated owner operator with institutional backing (JVs with a few PERE100 firms / lifecos). Largely does ground up development. Gross portfolio value of $800mm
- "Front office" team of <10 ppl (not including property mgmt / operations)
- Primary market (NYC / LA / SF)
Curious as well
$100k-$120k Base with a 35-100% Bonus depending on personal and fund performance sounds about right to me. I would think an all-in figure of $150k+
This sounds about right, though I'd guess the bonus is on the lower end of this.
Any idea how pay would progress for a firm like this? For VP, Director, etc. I'm sure it depends on performance / returns, but generally speaking. Seems like lots of developers more or less fit the general mold OP laid out ($500m - $1.5B gross aum range).
For this type of role, when does one typically gain 1) the ability to co-invest and 2) start receiving carry?
How do the megafunds pay
