Megafund acquisitions compensation
All, entry-level comp is often discussed on here but there are few threads (and even fewer recent ones) regarding comp for experienced hires at large funds. Seems to be a bit of a black box and I only ever hear second-hand rumored numbers.
It would be great to get a bunch of data points for 3-5 year experienced acquisition pros at $1bn+ funds to get a better sense of where we stand. I'll start:
3.5 years of experience, Senior Analyst
Acquisitions, all asset classes
West Coast
$250-260k all-in comp, all cash
Would be interesting to see everyone’s firm’s AUM along with this.
Killing it, y’all hiring? Lol
260k as a senior analyst? very impressive
Seems accurate for 3.5 YOE though?
250 feels like the low end of market for my years of experience at a large fund manager, which is why I started this thread (to verify).
75k + 20% bonus
$30b + AUM

WTF, I have two years experience (1 yr acq though) and make $100K base and 15% bonus living in NYC. Firm AUM roughly $7-9B.
I need a raise asap. How are you getting coinvest so early?
Bain in Boston?
Was also my guess, known to pay high.
I call bs
0 YOE, out of undergrad
90k base + 50-75% bonus
$30bn AUM

Can you confirm this bonus $?? Estimate or truly paid out?
Wrong thread
$2B fund
Invest across risk spectrum in equity and some structured debt (mezz/pref)
3 YOE
$130k base + $170k bonus + carry
Did you source a large deal to earn that bonus? Tremendous comp package for 3 years of experience.
I played a role in a few key investments in the TTM, but I would generally attribute our comp structure to us being a lean and profitable group. I’m the sole associate (with nobody below me) as well.
$3B AUM GP in SE
Mostly Value-add Office some Development
3.5 YOE (Associate Title)
$115k base + 30-40% bonus
Value add office? Good luck with that over the next few years. Hats off to you sir!
no such thing as core office anymore so everything is value-add now LOL
$18B AUM in Canada
Acquisition 1st year analyst, 85k + 15% bonus
YOE 0
Bump, does any have associate comp insight for acquisitions at a true Megafund (starwood, Blackstone, Brookfield, etc). Expecting an offer soon and trying to gauge where it should come in / if I should negotiate.
