MF REPE AM Exit Opportunities

Hi all,

Happy New Year! I currently accepted an offer at MF doing RE AM (BX, KKR, Apollo) as an analyst and turned down acquisitions opportunities at other shops (Artemis, variety of REITS, etc.). As my start date is approaching, I feel like I made the wrong decision as being on the deal-side of the business is where my interest lies.

I feel like I got caught up in the prestige and high salary (almost a six figure difference including bonus). If I eventually want to be on the deal side, analyzing potential investment opportunities and being in a fast paced environment - how can I best position myself when I start?

Thank you in advance for all your advice!

Can you share more precisely which shops you turned down for acq? Just curious, nothing more really.

You will be competitive for lots of roles but My opinion is to move ASAP.

There will be lots of roles looking for someone not fresh out of college but still very green. And you’ll be a top candidate for those. But once you have 2-3 years of exp, that’s a decent amount of AM experience. And associate roles looking for people with 2-3 years of experience will prefer people with transaction experience
