Mid-Day Interview/Meeting Attire

Hi All,

This may seem like a foolish question, but I have gone back and forth on my thoughts a couple times.

I have a meetup/interview with the partners of a group that is hiring that I am interested in joining. We have already gone through a successful phone interview. The interview is in the middle of my work day, at a neutral, public location and the firm feels somewhat casual.

Am I going to be expected to be in full interview attire ie: suit and tie, or would it be suitable to show up in my workday clothes (dress shirt/vest/slacks/loafers) since they know I am leaving my desk to meetup.

I don't want to have to stash my suit in the car and deal with a couple of on-the-go changes but would feel like a jackass if they were turned off by the fact that I wasn't in a suit.

I would say if you can throw a jacket and tie on. If your already wearing pants and a dress shirt that shouldn't really be a huge issue. Only can make a great first impression once ya know?

There's a chance you may not get dinged for not wearing a suit. However, there is a possibility you will get dinged. I am personally risk adverse so I swear a suit to those meetings. Plus, nobody should ever get turned off from you wearing a suit.

Always wear a suit unless you've specifically been told that it's not necessary to.
