MIT SA+P Real Estate Course

All, I'm an architect with about 10 years exp. I've been using the past couple weeks to further my knowledge of RE finance and development principles. My intention is to develop my own projects in the near future, similar to Jonathon Segal. I've found a few relatively short online courses, more notably an MIT Commercial Real Estate Online Short Course ($2,500, 6 weeks). I'm curious if the group here thinks there is much value to this sort of thing or if self study is just as good? Any other recommendations are also welcome.
