M&M Buys Mission Capital Advisors

Looks like Marcus & Millichap is boosting their D/E capabilities with the recently announced acquisition of Mission Capital Advisors (https://therealdeal.com/2020/10/19/marcus-millichap-inks-deal-to-buy-mission-capital-advisors/?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=widget&utm_campaign=feature_posts)

Guess this just goes to show the consolidation in the industry. I always thought highly of Mission Capital at least within NYC, so we'll see how the transition goes between them and Marcus.

Do you guys think in 5 years there will truly only be the Big Three remaining? Or will it just be the Big Two? (CBRE/JLL)

Apparently they're keeping the Mission capital name.  If the talent stays I bet they keep their reputation as a top placement broker in NYC.

friend used to work there. They lost a lot of their heavy hitters on both the debt and loan sales side. Guys like Ari Hirt, and will sledge. Solid shop still, dont think they would've gone through with the acquisition if most of the talent left. Should be a lot more activity on the distressed side of things in the coming month, so can see the value add for M&M.

Lol culturally this will be interesting. In any event, not a fan of the mission leadership.
