Newmark Analyst Modeling Test

Hi all,

I have an upcoming interview with Newmark Knight Frank for an analyst position. They mentioned a 3hr case study and said it’s a DCF model in Excel. I’m not sure what the asset class will be.

Has anyone had a similar experience with Newmark? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Used to work for Newmark, they didn't have any analysts do a test. Its probably just that office specific.

One thing to note is that Newmark has started outsourcing a lot of analyst work to India. This is part of an overall strategy to cut down on the costs per team. We lost 2 analysts due to this. Just something to consider if you're looking to be there long-term.

Works at CBRE Global Investors

PGIM has started doing this too on the debt and equity side. They use a company called Silverskills. It's just a bunch of Indians who do all of the data entry. The debt team in Richmond is notorious for offloading all their work to them.

Yup. Becoming more and more common. Obviously dependent on each team, but they are spending serious investment dollars building out their offices in India. I think Covid accelerated their push faster than they thought. I don't like the direction Newmark is taking. My entire team left and went to CBRE. Newmark is not able to compete effectively in most markets. But again, its total team dependent. Dont know your product type or region, you could be on rainmaker team.

any test like this is extremely easy for any candidate who has run through case studies before. Bare minimum proficiency required
