Nothing intellectually important to say, but I finally earned my spot in this industry. Keep pushin’ if you haven’t!

After 11 months of applications, having my ass ghosted countless times, and canvassing more than a Mormon missionary, I finally secured my seat at the table.

What’s more is that this opportunity is also the absolute best out of the hundreds of others postions that I was evidently denied: Brokerage program, check. Industrial, check. Team chemistry, check. Strong deal flow, check… I even get a livable base salary w/ bonus.

Fuckin-A, man, I am pumped. I was getting so desperate towards the end too that I almost just said fuck it to a $17/hr gig valuing residential homes in the midwest, or worse, delaying my dream even more for a tech sales role — not to mention I am in my early 30’s.

Anyways, just kind of a humble brag. Shit put me through the ringer and squeezed my ass tight. There isn’t a strong enough word to describe how happy I am that I dont have to say “yeah, I am still trying. Hiring is a bit frozen atm, but we’ll see…” anymore when asked for the millionth time how my job search was going. Goddamn that got old and depressing.

In conclusion, my hardships are just beginning, but I want to thank this community for everything. As cliche as it sounds, I honestly couldnt have done it without ya’ll. The topics and format of information on here made it so much easier to digest and comprehend. If youre struggling to land a job, just keep fuggn going man. Just keep fuggn going. Its the only way.

Every day is the first day, bust your ass, ask for work, ask to help, zero ego, keep a notebook on you and write down everything you learn.

Get really good at one thing to prove helpfulness, ask for next thing, continue. Find something everyone hates doing and/or nobody on the team is good at, get really good at that for value, immediate likability.

You popped on the wrong thread - this is RE, not IB. Here we're underworked, probably overpaid for what we actually do, under-exercised and sleep-deprived by choice. We only figure it out when we get carry in 10 years.

Got a big guy over here! Signing up for a new WSO account just to unnecessarily shit on a kid who's just being grateful - real class there.

Edit: just noticed you're a first-year analyst, as if you have it all figured out lmao
