Ocean West Capital Partners

Anyone have insight into this firm and culture/hours/deal flow/comp? Seen some of their posting and it piqued my interest. Seems like they are fairly active in the studio/tech space. Would be cool to hear if anyone has any first or second hand knowledge of the firm.

Hi Analyst 1 in RE - Comm, no, I never sleep and so I can respond to any lonely threads (like this one) at all hours of the night. Impressive, I know ;-)

Old Maguire Investments team, I think they blew up that shop in '08. They're ok, very scrappy and used to have rep as boiler room shop. That was 5+ years ago though. They used to be downtown in a sh*t office but looks like they moved thank god. They used to do anything they could, I think they bought the dreamworks 'studio' (really just office that was 85% or less utilized pre-covid), on behalf of a Korean firm and just got an asset management fee. Not sure how they're structured from a capital perspective these days, but I would not call them major studio players. That's reserved for Hackman, HPP, and quasi-Worthe (they most lease studio space, not actually operate it).
