Olayan Group

Hi guys,

Can someone give me thoughts on this group? Are they well regarded within the market? What would comp be like? What's their investment strategy etc?

They seem to be a behemoth but I have never heard of them.

Thanks!

I worked with them years ago.  The people that i worked with were all friendly.  I think they were paid well and it doesn't seem like a high pressure shop.  They are giagantic and very much a family office.  Sometimes they do good deals.  Sometimes they just need to place money.

I think they got their money because they had a monopoly on consumer product goods going into Saudi Arabia a long time ago.

Pretty sure they’re Morgan Properties’s JV partner of choice which says a lot considering how much their portfolio grew since 2008 (via JVs). Just partnered 3 years ago on a 14k unit portfolio purchase. Can’t speak to anything outside of that partnership. Morgan has slowed down post Covid acquisitions but are still the third biggest owner in the country so says a lot that they trust Olayan.
