Personal Trading?
Curious if anyone has ran into issues with their personal trading accounts. Obviously we work in RE, so we don’t have “inside info” thrown at us on a daily basis regarding stocks and crypto. Are there companies out there that restrict its RE people from trading? And do folks who work in the asset management part of a bank in real estate have to adhere to the same rules as ibankers & S/T?
The rules at institutional finance companies (banks, life companies, larger AMs) are for all employees. RE inherently has MNPI, especially in CMBS (BX taking someone private and refinancing all of the debt into a SASB is MNPI).
Any clue if most don’t care about crypto ?
My company considers crypto to be money similar to foreign currency, so no restrictions. I think right now, most companies are doing the same, but all subject to change at any time.
