very different strategy from blackstone - more distressed situations, much smaller check sizes. strategy more aligns with fortress, cerberus, oaktree. but very well regarded - i recall some other guys here having dealt with them in the past and being impressed. also currently in the process of trying to raise $2.7B i believe

Good rep/returns; REPE team seems good but with poor upper management which seemed to care about building prestige over hiring right, i.e. cared more about where you went to school, gpa, and previous experiences, over some of the qualities which we can all agree on are more valuable/important at the analyst level (motivation, culture fit, everything else except gpa...)

They're okay. Nothing amazing, yet nothing terrible.

Robert Clayton Dean: What is happening? Brill: I blew up the building. Robert Clayton Dean: Why? Brill: Because you made a phone call.

They're a top dog. Up there with the AEWs & OakTrees of the world.

They tend to have a very flexible/strategic investment process, oriented towards special situations or unique capital structures. They don't just shotgun JV Equity slugs at anything in a decent market such as Carlyle

I guarantee you Senior Associates / VPs at AEW are getting paid better than your Senior Associates & VPs. Their Analysts are a caliber above you I am sure, better paid as wells.

When i think of AEW I think of extremely average, borderline subpar. So this definitely isn't a glowing review if that's your benchmark.

Oh interesting the incoming analyst who doesn't know shit about fuck has a wrong opinion. Guarantee whatever dog ass shop you're coming into pays less than the Analysts at AEW. Their analysts are prolly a good bit quicker too, this I am sure of
