Producer at JLL/CBRE/C&W etc
For brokerages with analysts programs, what typically looks like the timeline to hit producer. I know it’s all based off of pulling in business but is there a time frame that you’re expected to start generating business in. Also what seems to be the retention once people reach these roles. I’ve heard varying things like many people burnout while other teams seem to support new producers by tossing them execution fees so some clarity would be great.
Edit: Just clarifying I’m asking for info about investment sales and debt equity roles
It all depends. Typically 2 years as an analyst and 3 as a producer.
JLL kinda seems like 2-3years analyst, 1-2.5 years associate, then you become a director which is when you’re technically a producer. At this point it really depends on the team you’re on. You could be executing business or sourcing for yourself. It really really depends on the your team and the market. If the institutional market is capped with brokerage coverage already than you could get stuck either just executing their business or being forced to be a private capital producer where you’re trying to source business that you could’ve started sourcing without doing the analyst stint.
