Q&A: Breaking into REPE from UG (No Cre Experience)

Ask away! This site has been very helpful so I figured I would pay it forward. I was able to break into a top 10 aum REPE/Investment Manager with no prior experience.

My past experience was a summer analyst role in commercial banking.

No problem! My recruitment process consisted of a virtual resume drop as soon as applications opened in July 2020. I didn't get a chance to network as it was a last minute track change. I definitely wish I would of networked more so I knew more about the firm. I probably know more about corporate/commercial lending then CRE because of my internship. My university has a real estate major so that has been very helpful.

Awesome, thanks. What type of school do you go to if you do not mind me asking? (Target, semi, non). Also, what side of the business are you on (AM, Acq, PM)?
