Rank these REPE Books

I am trying to get into Real Estate Private Equity. Which of these books do you recommend the most?

  • The Real Estate Game (William Poorvu)
  • Real Estate Finance & Investments (William Brueggeman)
  • Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investments (David M. Geltner)
  • What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow (Gallinelli)

Thanks.

I have read these all and they are great reads. I would start out with Poorvu's book and then What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow second. The other two are up to you.

As others have said, they are all great primers / resources.

  • Gallinelli is a paperback and can be read in a few hours (great primer and reference)
  • Poorvu can be read in a day and is a a great overview
  • Brueggeman is available as a free PDF if you do some Googling (though I’m not sure anyone should read a 700-page PDF)

I would read Poorvu as an overview, Gallinelli to get into the financial side, and then Brueggeman to really dig in (not really necessary but likely helpful). Haven't read Geltner, so no opinion there.
