Reaching out after an interview

Had a superday interview last week and haven't heard anything back. Reached out to HR this morning and they haven't got back to me.

The interview went well, but none of the interviewers gave me their cards and I forgot to ask. My question is has anyone ever tried reaching back out after an interview through linkedin? Not sure if doing that would be creepy and maybe I should just let this one go.

Assuming you remembered the interviewers first and last name:

If this is a large firm use - [email protected] If this is a smaller use - [email protected] sometimes includes a first initial if it is a common name.

You can also look at the email sent from HR or anyone who contacted you for the interview to get a feel for their email syntax.

This works great for prospecting clients as well, hope that helps.

In the future, you should always email the recruiter and actual people you met with during the interview the day after your meeting. This is a golden rule. A simple: "thank you for your time, I was pleased to hear that your firm is taking a large focus on X, I am very interested in the opportunity and look forward to hearing back" is all it takes.

They didnt give you their emails? Find out what they are with the power of google.

Extra credit: Have hand written thank you notes on you. After the interview go to the nearest coffee shop and write each person a thank you. Drop the letters off with their building's secretary or mailbox. They should receive them the next day. Everybody opens hand written-letters, the same cannot be said for emails.

Not that anyone cares, but ill update this since I hate when these threads have no closure.

Had a call with HR and they said the team loved me and had nothing but good things to say, however they are debating going with someone with more experience and will let me know what they decided to do. In the mean time another team in the office is really excited about me and wants to meet me in a couple weeks to possibly bring me on. Can't say I am excited about another 2 hour marathon interview session, but I guess that's what you have to do. This time I think I'll make sure to get their cards.

For those of you wondering this was for a real estate financing position in a top BB in a top market.
