Real Estate Internship Help

For Real Estate Internships is there a general cutoff date when recruiting for summer internships ends like Banking or PE. I have had 4 interviews through OCR but no luck landing a gig. Another question would be If i wanted to email someone after applying to internships online who should I contact to try to avoid my application going down the proverbial black hole of online applications. I've applied to a couple dozen and only heard back from 2.

In my experience a lot of REITs hire on a pretty ongoing basis. LinkedIn is the best resource for REIT/REPE jobs because the companies you'll be reaching out to generally aren't huge corporations like Investment Banks that follow a super structured and standard recruiting process. You can get a lot further through good networking or just online applications (through LinkedIn or company website).

Anyone who you think would have a say in your hiring - the more senior the better. You should also be reaching out to these people even if they don't have listings posted too. Would you rather be 1 of 1 fighting for a job or 1 of 10,000?

Definitely no set cutoff. Real estate hiring is super need based so I've seen big time companies post internship openings as late as March or April. Were the 4 OCR interviews real estate? I would also get involved/in contact with your real estate club on campus. A lot of companies go through the clubs to post internship opportunities catered to specific interests.

3 out of the 4 were Real Estate and yeah they were though the real estate department/club at my business school, but thanks for your input.
