Real Estate Opportunities Outside of NYC

I currently work in NYC real estate (AM and Development), but see myself moving to Boston in the near future. I've spent some time searching opportunities and reputable RE companies there, but the options seem to be pretty limited. I realize this is to be expected going from NYC to a smaller city, but it almost seems as though I'm significant limiting my future career prospects by making this move. I've made a shorthand list of companies in Boston I would work at, and I can count all of them on one hand.

Have any of you moved from NYC to another city and landed at a better company? Do you have any suggestions for me in my search?
