Received Deutsche bank CRE offer need advice

I received the call this morning from DB and am obviously excited. However, it's not a true IB role and I'm not particularly set on working in real estate lending in the future. Will this (assuming I get return offer after summer analyst) still be a strong addition to my resume, say, if I want to transition to IB in the future? How would you compare the prestige of non-IB but similar, debt origination work at Deutsche bank to traditional M&A at a small boutique?

Need advice on how to proceed for summer 2024 but thinking I should take this given it's my best offer at the moment.

Wait so what is the role? It sounds like you’re interning on a production team? If so, its a great gig but dont expect any of your actual IB buddies to think its sick that you’re in real estate debt originations. Prestige in real estate is a funny concept to me… either way i think you should take it but only if you want to go into real estate. DB’s m&a team isn’t going to come sniffing around the cre area of the office for talent

Was in a similar situation a few years ago and real estate bank lending finance didn’t exactly translate to IB recruiting. I think most of my intern class tried for IB. 1 made it in Charlotte and 1 did PE. I think half are still in CRE. However, 3-4 years later I’m still in CRE and really enjoy it.

Now the underlying topic, money. You start lower but also work less but once you have 2 years you can make close to PE people. I didn’t get burnt out and now make more than the people who left IB. PE people make more than me with similar hours FWIW.
