Recommended Company Processes
Started at a new firm a while back in a more senior role at a development company. As a company, they have been very successful and have built a strong brand in our market. That being said, there's very little in the way of structure. As the owner of my company starts to step back from day-to-day operations over the next few years, he's looking to introduce some processes into how we both execute on new opportunities and operate our real estate.
I don't want to introduce structure just for the heck of it, especially as I think one of the reasons we've been successful is that we can be nimble. That being said, we don't really have any structure around how we vet opportunities, track pre-dev spend, and we don't really have an asset management function to speak of - just to name a few.
I'm curious to hear what processes at your firms that you've found are actually value-additive (and not just more busy work).
