REGL to REPE Advice

Hey folks,

I’m 2nd year analyst in a REGL group finishing up my program this summer and joining a REPE shop as an associate (generalist) working out of an opportunistic fund (common equity and distressed credit focus).

My IB experience has ranged from REITs to private OpCos and some asset level deals. Would anyone who has made the jump have advice on how to best transition or prepare for the transition? Especially as you moved from working with RE corporates to focusing more on the underlying assets themselves.

Thank you!
