REPE London Job Market

I'm currently working at mid level in a European market and have been actively looking for a move to London, either in a deal team (PE/IM) or a AM team (PE). It's been a couple of months since I started working on my network, lining up headhunters and monitoring LinkedIn.

My understanding is that job market sentiment coming into 2026 was better than in previous years, but the Iran war has kept the market soft (on top of lackluster fundraising and AI trends).

Does anybody have a read here? Do you expect a post-summer increase in activity if inflation and rate hikes give the sector a break?
