REPE Megafund Asset Management
I'm a sophomore at a semi-target school, who ultimately wants to work in a REPE acquisitions group. I have a fairly high GPA, good extracurriculars, and RE internship experience. A few top PE firms (BX, Starwood, etc) recruit at my school, but only for their Asset Management divisions. While a few REIT acquisitions groups recruit for summer analysts at my school, I think working at a top name like Starwood or BX would be an incredibly valuable experience. Is an AM summer analyst role at a top fund worth doing for junior summer, if I am interested in eventually working in acquisitions? How would interning in AM at a top fund be viewed by an acquisitions group when going through full-time recruiting? I understand these questions may be a bit premature to be asking for a sophomore who hasn't started recruiting yet, but any guidance on these questions would be appreciated as I begin to prioritize what positions/companies I want to go for.
