REPE or REIT Opps?

Hi All, I just finished my junior year at a target state school (think UMICH, Cal Berkley, UVA) in their undergraduate business school. This summer I am interning with a well known repe/ development firm. If I could stay with this firm I would, but I want to make sure I am in the right location. I will be getting underwriting experience this upcoming summer.

With that being said, I was wondering what I should be looking for in terms of full time positions. When (if at all) does REPE full time recruiting start. Is it a formal process or mainly through networking? Should I be looking at REITS or do they not take undergrads as much? Or should I look to land a REIB job for a few years and then try to jump to REPE? I appreciate any help you guys can give me!
