Research Analyst - Entry Level

Hello All,

I have a phone interview next week for a research analyst position at a big firm (JLL, CBRE, Cushman). The main point is to explain my skills and experiences, I was a finance & real estate major and have interned on a residential real estate team. This would be my first real job in CRE and was wondering what skills and experiences stand out to interviewers that would make them want to give me an in person interview for this type of position.

Thanks,

Jake

Basic excel and math skills are obviously important. Writing skills are valuable in research. Being able to gather, interpret, and present data with excel charts/graphs then write a narrative is important. Tell them you understand the fundamentals of real estate (vacancy, absorption, etc.), but are also comfortable with doing adhoc research projects in your market (demographics, economic metrics, political affairs).

Awesome, thanks for your help! One last thing, they mentioned to list my salary expectation, looking online it says like 55k is supposedly the average. Anything over 40k would be awesome to me since this would my first job and chance to get my foot in the door, just curious what would be best to put.
