Some Guy Bought the Flatiron Building and Didn’t Pay for It

Link below, I know its on CoStar and other sites but figured below is one everyone can see. 

Premise is Jacob Garlick placed a $190M bid on the flatiron building, but missed the first $19M down payment. Crazy because apparently at auction guys were bidding up the price for the flatiron building. Dunno why this guy paid that much for it if he knew he couldn't do it (reminds me of Jon Spano on that 30 for 30).

It's even better than Spano, if only because "Jacob Garlick" sounds like such an obviously fake name.

And he didn't pay for it.  There was no downside; he didn't have to front a cent to be part of the bidding process.  You could have bid 190 billion dollars and it would have been "accepted"
