Switching to brokerage from portfolio management?

Anybody here transition to brokerage from other parts of CRE want to share their experience? I currently work in portfolio management (valuations, reporting/analytics, what-if analysis, investor relations) for a large pension fund and almost dread my job as I feel like I'm not learning anything/adding value. I'm thinking about moving to a industrial brokerage team as an analyst, but my only reservation is taking a pay-cut ($70k base + 10% bonus to $50k base and unclear on the bonus).

Thoughts?
