The Death of Leasing?

2 years into office leasing in LA market. I have a few deals under my belt but nothing to write home about.

Is the office leasing brokerage arm dead? Obviously there will still be leases, but with so few meaningful deals being done by the top brokers it leaves me questioning the opportunity cost. Could probably be doing something else.

Nobody actually believes office demand will return en masse, if at all, as we are fighting to pull people out of their living rooms.

Love the individuality of brokerage, but wondering if its evolved permanently.

I think increasingly people are believing that office demand will return en masse - maybe not to previous levels but certainly much higher than it has been in the past couple years. Look at all the major financial institutions forcing people back. Hell, even the tech companies are bringing people back to office a few days a week.

Assuming hybrid is the new norm for most companies, you still need office space.

Office isn't even on my radar at my current company but I still buy into it long-term. People like seeing people face to face at least a couple times a week.
