Thoughts on Ares RE merger with Black Creek
Is Ares going to be on the same level as a BX/Starwood/Brookfield in a few years?

In terms of what exactly? Fund size? Probably not
RE Mergers are really just A + B = C.
There will be some cost synergies (eg people will be fired) on the accounting side, fundraising side, other back office functions, etc. But other than that, business will go on as usual. Ares as a higher AUM & more fees. Black creek executives get some liquidity, better access to capital, maybe some IT infrastructure benefits. ZzZzzZ
RE mergers are boring... speaking from experience
How do these mergers generally work? Do they continue to operate as separate entities or do they combine teams and offices?
Another big win for Eastdil. Maybe they can pay their interns this summer
