Thoughts on Pursuing a Masters in Real Estate?
I'm a recent graduate who majored in finance at a non-target school in the Midwest. Graduated with a 3.6 GPA. Currently considering pursuing a Masters in Real Estate. I've had a internship on a asset management team oriented toward multifamily during my time in school. The goal is currently to pursue real estate investment in the Chicago/Midwest. However, I've been having a difficult time searching for full time analyst roles. While it seems more common to get a MRED after getting work experience, I think it may make sense to pursue a MRED while the hiring market improves.
Are there any MRED programs that have strong placements in the Midwest on top of UW Madison? If anyone has been in this position in the past, could you please share your experiences?

DePaul University in Chicago has a great CRE alumni base in Chicago. I have a few Chicago-based friends that went there that work in development or on the principal side. It certainly can open doors in Chicago if you network. For me, I personally wouldn’t go there for my undergrad as I would attend a top school (DePaul is not), but it’s respected in Chicago.
I appreciate the response. I noticed that DePaul recently hosted an event with ULI. Have you had any experience with ULI or NAOIP? Is membership in those orgs something you would recommend while pursuing a Master's?
