Tishman Speyer thoughts?
Curious to see if anyone has thoughts on working at Tishman, specifically for an analyst/associate role. Currently work at a GP focused on multi/bfr, but looking to pivot to NYC and see they have a position open. Have read on other threads that comp seems to be low. Any insight on hours/culture/deal exposure? Any idea how long you would expect to be an analyst/associate for? Any and all thoughts appreciated!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about working at Tishman Speyer as an analyst or associate:
Compensation: There are mentions in WSO threads that compensation at Tishman Speyer may be on the lower side compared to other firms. However, specific figures for salary and bonus are not detailed in the provided context.
Hours: Analysts at Tishman Speyer can expect typical hours to vary depending on deal flow and project demands. While exact hours aren't specified, the workload is likely to align with the demanding nature of real estate development and acquisitions roles.
Culture: The culture at Tishman Speyer is not explicitly detailed in the context, but working at a flagship office like NYC is often associated with exposure to high-profile projects and a fast-paced environment.
Deal Exposure: Analysts at Tishman Speyer may work on a mix of asset acquisitions and ground-up development deals. There is potential for involvement in development deals, but the extent of this exposure may depend on the specific team and office.
Career Progression: The duration of time spent as an analyst or associate isn't specified, but career progression in such roles typically depends on performance, deal experience, and firm structure.
If you're looking to pivot to NYC and gain exposure to a mix of acquisitions and development, Tishman Speyer could be a strong option, though it’s worth considering the compensation and workload balance.

I have heard that culturally it can be a challenging place to work. That said, its Tishman, being an analyst/associate there for a few years will open up many doors. If you can secure a position there, take it, especially in this market. Can attest that comp is lower than market but the brand name is top tier. Get your experience in your analyst / associate years and your money in your VP/director years.

Disagree on culture, really kind group of people at HQ, with a couple teams being notably more sweaty
