Transition from Asset Management to Debt & Equity Placement

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get your feedback on something. I have an asset management junior internship at a fairly large REIT that only focuses on one asset class.

Even though I have interest in that class, I want to be able to be exposed to many more in the future order to land an analyst position at a top PERE within the next few years.

How well do you think I can recruit for debt and equity placement jobs at places like HFF, JLL, or CBRE after graduation? I have a great GPA (3.82) from a semi-target school and I believe I can network well between now and graduation next year.

Thanks for the input! I know these debt and equity placement shops ask for an excel test during the interview process sometimes. How would you recommend I prepare for such tests even though these shops know that I was doing an AM internship the last summer?
