Transitionining from REPE to Development

I've been working in REPE in an acquisitions role for 3 years and now am interested in transitioning to development. I've worked in all the major asset types, but have never worked on a development deal. With no construction management/project management experience at all, will it be tough to make the transition? What level could I expect to come in at on the development side?

I'm considering getting an MRED from USC, would that be worth it? I'd like to go out on my own as a sponsor within the next 3-4 years, and I'm wondering if it would be useful to do the MRED program to broaden my exposure within development.

First move: learn how to spell Development.

Now that I'm done being an asshole: your modelling experience will be pretty palatable depending on how you U/W (when I made this move we U/W value creation/ dev as part of our standard package). Even without that you've got the technical skills that you won't need a lot of training, you're an Associate- Development at a private shop post move.

I'd use the MRED to broach your way from Mid - High Level gig as opposed to Jr / Slightly less Jr but that's a personal choice.
