Wait time after final round interviews (Real estate)

Was just curious about anyone's experiences with hiring/recruiting during December for analyst roles. Had final round interviews this December for several firms (allocators and Developers) and was wondering if it's just a factor of the Holidays making offer decisions slower, or if I should just cut my losses and move on.

Appreciate anyone's experiences (if any).

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for the hiring process to slow down during the holiday season. Many firms experience a lull in activity as key decision-makers take time off, which can delay offer decisions. Here are a few points to consider:

  • Holiday Delays: December is a busy month for most people personally, and many take vacations. This can lead to slower response times.
  • Unexpected Absences: Sometimes analysts leave unexpectedly around Christmas time, or management may decide that more analysts are needed, which could work in your favor if you've already interviewed.
  • Ad-hoc Hiring: While there are fewer slots during these periods, ad-hoc hiring does go on, and it might be easier to get hired if you've had an interview because there's less competition.
  • Stay Proactive: It doesn't hurt to follow up with a polite email to inquire about the status of your application, reaffirming your interest in the role.

Remember, patience is key during this time. It's not necessarily a sign to move on, but rather to wait it out a bit longer while also keeping your options open.

Been getting tons of interviews cut mid process due to the positions not being available, so been very antsy. Really appreciate the response.
