Why DSF over IS interview answer?!
So I have a capital markets internship interview think cbre, jll, eastdil and i want to be prepared to answer the question "do you prefer investment sales or Debt and structured finance and why?
My answer would be I'd prefer underwriting multiple types of properties which the DSF team does and it would be more aligned with my personality type to work with more people, because the DSF guys work with all teams not just an analyst on say the industrial team.
I honestly don't have a preference so would appreciate your answer to it!

Your answer is fine - another great one would be that you get exposure to the full capital stack and an understanding of the needs of investors at various points in it. You also get underwriting experience above project-level cash flows.
There are IS teams with different product types. I’d say the biggest difference is that IS is more interested in pricing and potential upside when dsf is more interested in value and potential downside
