I've seen it in some job descriptions. I don't think it'll last because most RE roles are about knowing your market which means getting out of the office and checking out the area. Seeing what's going on. You can't do that if you're working from home full-time. For me I think this is just shops trying to cast a wider net and "follow" the trend to get the right candidate. I think we all like hybrid.

Is your colleague very enthusiastic about the remote part or seem like someone who would enjoy the full-time remote aspect?

 

Understandable, I sometimes forget some markets are still transitioning back into the office from fully hybrid as we’ve been back for quite some time.

He’s enthusiastic about being able to live in whichever city he wants. His role now is similar to our current firm where we invest across a large number of states across the country. Due to this, we often end up traveling anyways to learn more about a market so he doesn’t see it as much of a draw.
