My understanding is its based on office not company revenue. Main components will be if its team-specific or if your office pools all team bonuses into one pot for all the product types and tries to size each analyst out to a general band with top performers or longer tenured analysts / associates being compensated slightly better.

I would expect much much lower than the past 3 years and you will see people start to  leave.

Don't mean to be flippant here, but shouldn't you just ask your boss or a coworker who has been there how it works? I'm sure it changes company to company.

Gotta be straight up with him. Time it right and be understanding that it's been a rough year and next year will probably be rough too, but at some point if you don't ask...

From my experience, IS bonuses are almost exclusively team specific since the principal brokers tend to be 1099'd. Nothing is guaranteed and you should aim to have that conversation with your team lead.

FWIW, I got stiffed (maybe $5k YE kicker) by a team that did > $1B in annual sales volume during my 1-year stint as the sole analyst for an institutional sales team. They were of the mindset that any share of the fees was only for people who brought value from a relationship perspective. I quickly moved over to the debt side after that.
