Analyst deal experience: Which one is best for resume?

Current second year at a coverage group recruiting for lateral or buyside roles. Deal flow has been pretty poor for me so far. I had one prior experience that died and was a weird process overall - not much modeling experience, really difficult to understand the company's business model (technical stuff), and its in the back of my mind. Most importantly, deal died after a while. So in general, not so inclined to talk about that as a potential deal in my interviews.

The other deal is ongoing and relatively new. Much more exciting and legit, and easier to wrap my head around. Only downside is that it's still an ongoing process and very much early innings, so I'm not sure if there is too much to talk about in an interview.

I'm leaning towards omitting the first deal from resume and interviews, and going with the second because I think there's more upside in that so I may have just answered my own question, but wondering if anybody thinks this is a good move. In general, not so excited to talk about or knowledgeable about the first deal company, and the second current deal is fresher in the mind and more interesting to talk about. Is this a fair take?
