Low GPA, ill-formatted resume, lack of content, no finance skills.
Very difficult.
Any tips on resume formatting?
If you have interned at Merrill Lynch, why would you not expand that. lol
Whole format needs to be trashed. Relevant coursework needs to be under the schools. On the side it's distracting/awkward. The misaligned bullets are ridiculous. You need descriptions for (at least one of) your internships, especially the ML one. Why would you not leverage something at a BB? Shorten the eng description where you can. Only put stuff you can talk about in an interview. I'd get rid of the descriptionabout the award you one. The italicized one liner is enough. Dump the bullet points for skills, they look tacky. Drop the ones like project management unless you actually have some certification in it. The rest you need to group (e.g. computer/software, language etc...). Separate these by commas as well. For interests see above. Post an update.
I had a internship at ML GWIM, from my personal perspective the work I've done at my current company seems far more indicative of my performance than my internship freshman year
It's all about name brand though. You could be doing bitchwork at Goldman, it would still be more valuable than something related to the job at some little no name office. It's unfair but that's how life works. And definitely look at the Mergers & Inquisitions template, it's pretty much the standard for all finance.
Thank you, much appreciated
Use the search function for Resume template or google Mergers & Inquisitions Resume template. Should help a lot
