Bank is publicly retained - Can I put on resume?
A client publicly announced they retained my bank for a process I’m on - am I able to put their name on my resume for “transaction experience” or do I still need to wait until a deal is publicly announced?
If you want to disclose nonpublic details, would blind the client. If not, use their name
Based on the most helpful WSO content, if a client has publicly announced that they retained your bank for a process, it is generally acceptable to include this on your resume under "transaction experience." However, you should still exercise caution. If the deal itself has not been publicly announced or closed, it is advisable to avoid disclosing sensitive details. Instead, you can use generic terms like "Company A" or "Buyer A" to describe the transaction while maintaining confidentiality.
For example, you could write:
"Advised Company A on strategic alternatives, including a potential sale process."
This approach ensures you remain professional and compliant while showcasing your involvement.
