Buy Side Junior Level Resume - Need Help!

Hi all,

I've been working at a mid-sized asset manager in NYC since I graduated Hofstra University in December. I would reallllly appreciate any resume advice you could give me.

I would love to go into anything except corporate finance and would really appreciate. I'm seeking to upgrade to a more rewarding/demanding/respected buy-side role.

Any career advice would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
hofstraguy

Two questions.

What exactly is a CFA level I candidate? Do you really think it is wise to change positions after only 7 months in your first position?

When a plumber from Hoboken tells you he has a good feeling about a reverse iron condor spread on the Japanese Yen, you really have no choice. If you don’t do it to him, somebody else surely will. -Eddie B.

None other than reconsider leaving your first position this early. Also, you need to be registered for CFA level I to put CFA level I candidate on your resume. Just saying. Hopefully you've done so, just in case you're interviews by some douche who knows the technicalities asks you if you're registered and you say "no".

I'm out of my element passing judgment on this, but do people actually list things like "while working 20 hours per week" alongside their GPA, rather than maybe bring it up in conversation and that's it? It just seems kind of sophomoric.
