CRE AM Resume Review - Any help appreciated

Hi All,

Need some help here. For some background:

I worked equity asset management at a large lifeco for ~3.5 Years. I then joined a growing CRE prop tech firm to help build a new brokerage focused client advisory/account management team. Unfortunately, I was impacted by a large scale layoff a few months ago. After some thought and reflection, I'm looking to transition back to the CRE side of the industry, ideally equity AM.

I've been continuously applying with not very much luck. I have had a couple of interviews but no good news here yet. For the most part, I'm getting rejected and/or not even hearing back for roles that I think I'd be more than qualified for.

Is it just a sign of the times? How can I improve my resume to improve my chances of landing interviews? How can I show employers that I'm looking to transition back into the industry?

All criticism welcome! Resume Attached to post.

Doing this quickly on my phone, but you don’t need that semicolon (either make it a comma or just a new line), and you don’t need a summary or objection section. The objective is to get a job and the bullet points are already a summary of your roles. Did you do anything in college or were you in any clubs (preferably with leadership roles?) If so, add those. Finally, hit the justify alignment button so the ends of lines all line up. It’s more visually appealing.

Love the format. Is it the old Mergers & Inquisitions template?

Thanks, @CRE. Much appreciated. I had added the summary/objective as a way to display that I’m looking to transition back to the industry - but to your point, that can be shown through the application itself.

Unfortunately, no leadership positions in clubs at college. While I joined some RE club events, I spent most of my time heads down in the books and/or working nearly full time. I suppose I can add the RE club or my study abroad program to seem more well rounded there.

Lastly, I couldn’t tell you which template this is. I’ve been using it for years now but I do know I found it here on WSO.

Good idea, but I’d put that info in your cover letter / email body / LinkedIn DM / etc.

Definitely add the RE club and your travel abroad just to add more interest to your education section.
