Critique my CV, please..
I had some free time and decided to tweak my resume a little more. I am currently a senior with no real IB experience; however, I hope to get into IBD. I believe not having any real experience has hurt me, so I revamped my CV in order of relevance.
I have had a few interviews thus far, but none that have managed to develop into an offer, and yes I know it is getting past recruiting season, but it doesn't hurt to rework one's resume. Any critiquing and/or criticism will be extremely appreciated.
*As a side note, I transferred to another university after my freshman year, that is why there are two educational institutions listed. Lastly, I could not get the link/post on here from Razume, so I just took a screenshot. Hope it is viewable..
I see a few things here that could just be deleted:
1) In your interests you essentially listed Tennis, WSJ, FT and two books. So it reads like you are interested in reading those two books over and over again. Broaden your scope of interest.
2) Your soccer intramural is not a position. Move that to interest.
3) It may be better to kill Capital Markets Course and instead list your related school works.
4) Since you have not graduated, put expected graduation - May 2013.
5) Instead of personal, make that skills. Instead of skills put down something else (Softwares maybe?)
Awesome, thank you. Do you advise I just take down the books completely? Also, how does 'Technical' sound as opposed to 'softwares' for skills?...hope that wasn't confusing.
You may be better served by making it more general. Like instead of books, list something about how you enjoy following the financial markets. Sort of shows that you read the newspapers/books and allows you to move some more stuff into interests.
And that sounds fine. Softwares was just a suggestion.
What school offers investment banking as a major???
UW-Madison, Wisconsin School of Business. That is the full title of the finance major offered here.

I do have a few issues with it. I understand you need to fill your resume up, but I dont think putting a course as experience is a good idea. Typically that is something that's reserved for work experience. If the first thing a recruiter sees is a course, he will think that you haven't really done much outside of that course.

First of all, I think your layout looks very clean overall.
Can you expand a little bit on your summer work?
Maybe put "Skills, Activites & Interests" or something comparable to that instead of "Personal". Check out what M&I recommends.
I also second what VoidTrading said: Put the soccer stuff in the bottom section and take off the specific book names.
If you want to keep the Office stuff (people are discussing about that all the time), then maybe just write "MS Office" to get it all in one line. Furthermore, write "Skills" or even "Computer Skills", but not only "Skill".

Do you think I should take more time to expand on my investment banking class (I'll definitely have more after the semester, as we have yet to receive the details of the pitchbook presentation we have to give at the end of the semester)?
