CV Date Mistake Before Interview
Hey everyone, I recently got invited to an interview through a director contact at the firm. After double-checking my CV, I noticed a mistake: the date of a one-day case competition (not directly relevant to the role) was accidentally listed as spanning 1.5 years. This happened when I reused a section to match the formatting and forgot to update the dates, so it is definitely my oversight and I know I should have seen it.
I still need to ask for the time and location of the interview, so I was thinking of using that email to send a clean, updated version of my CV. Is that a good idea, and do you think I should mention the mistake explicitly, or just send the new version without drawing attention to it?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Once they confirm a date and time, I would just confirm receipt and flag that you are attaching your latest resume. I would avoid mentioning the mistake explicitly. Making mistakes is human nature, but some in the industry can think they are holier than thou and treat it as a reason to ding you.
