Deadline by 5PM EST - Please help advise on this unique situation!

So I'm currently debating putting either an econ research position on my resume, or a club activity. The problem with the econ research was I don't have much to talk about - I was essentially just pulling whatever info the Ph.D needed, summarizing articles, and creating graphs in Excel. To combat this lack of lengthy discussion in potential interviews, I drafted a new resume taking it off - and including a club position at my school (investment fund where I'm an analyst). The problem with this is, not sure how to add it in and if it looks better.

My main issue is if I'll be grilled on econ research where I arguably didn't do jack shit but grunt work. What do you guys think?
