Dilemma regarding one or two pages CV
Simple question: is it definite that a CV is getting thrown out if its >1 page.
I have:
University BSc
Summer school at Bocconi
Management consultant intern
Intern to the COO at a SaaS firm within accounting
Full-time position doing sales/booking meeting for a boutique investment firm (great asset management returns, no BS)
Lending agent (ful time)...
Job shadowing for a senior trader at an investment bank (including this as a 'proof' of my early interest in the markets
Mcdonalds (LOL, although I think this shows grit, especially if you have a privilieged background)
Then various interests, certificates and proficiencies taking up 3x2=6 rows in the word document.
What should I do? I have maximized margins already, even extended the page which I know will screw up if stuff if they decide to print the CV (do they?).
I just have a really hard time fitting this to one page.

At a certain point you should let old jobs run off your resume. Stick to 1 page. Get rid of micky D’s (I used to work there too lol) and the job shadow.
Would you have any interest at all in having a quick look at the one-pager when I get my final draft? :)
I have quite a hard time fetching feedback within my immediate surroundings. I am usually the one who tends to instead help others get the basics of a cover letter right, etc...

You gotta cut some of that stuff or shorten it.
Unless you’ve been working for a couple decades (and even then it’s debatable) there is no reason to have a resume that goes over 1 page.

Extended margins are fine as long as it’s readable. Just convert to pdf and make sure it all stays on the page and is legible and you’re fine. (And ofc probably goes without saying you should only send pdf version).
Look I feel you as someone who did like multiple internships in HS, worked a couple years at a fast food place in HS too (although not McDs), did 4 internships in college, and had some research published (no name journal but still I cared a lot about it) it was super tempting to have a two page resume but I got the same blunt advice from from my mentors and just had to swallow the pill and cut things down.
The thing that really got it through for me is a much older mentor of mine was a MD PhD that went into biotech investing. He has multiple published papers/conferences, four Ivy League degrees (UG, masters, MD, & PhD), and multiple closed deals at his firm where he was at that time a principal. And he showed me that his latest resume was still only one page.

One page. Could be the difference between a team reading it and throwing it in the garbage. We only look at resumes for a short second. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot.
